Trans women are women

Updated: Mar 27, 2021

International Women's day is celebrated each year on the 8th of march and this women's day we wanted to break this mindset of people who still believe that trans women are not real women. We all understand that the majority of us are born as either male, female or intersex person. This distinction is determined right after birth based on our anatomical and genetics. This identification is basically known as our biological sex and this works out for the majority of us.

What people fail to understand is that there is more to gender identity than the anatomical placement of organs and genetics. The biological sex of a person can be classified as male, female or intersex based on their bodily parts, but we need to register in our minds that gender identity is completely different and is based on a majority of factors.

There is always this distinction made between women and trans women, irrespective of the fact that they have gone through with a sex change operation, appearance and identity. If you are either confused on how to speak to a trans man or a women the best thing to do is to politely ask them which pronouns they prefer and address them accordingly.

Our society has somewhat made it taboo to speak to the trans community but we will also recommend that try to connect with them and help them feel that they are just like you, and this action is certain to make them feel accepted and if all of us do the same, we are certain that there will be a day when there will be no distinction between women and trans women.
